Intravenous Therapy Certification Workshop--Fee: $600

  • Intense 1-day, 100% hands-on seminar, which is held for approximately 8 hours.

  • Designed to teach the serious individual how to start, care and maintain, and discontinue a peripheral IV or enhance their skills from previous training. This is not a central line course, nor a pharmaceutical IV course.

  • A home study module is required of the participant outside of the clinical workshop. This home study may be completed before or after the day of the program.

  • Participants will be taught the proper handling, and concept of the procedure then proceed to the practice area, and finally will prove competency on  specially designed manikins.

  • Does not consist of written exams. Our "exams" are practical examinations.

Upon successful completion of the Workshop, the participant will receive a national certification*

Prerequisites: Must be at least 18 years of age. LPN/LVN, RN, or other qualified medical professional. Non-licensed healthcare professionals are expected to have previous venipuncture skill and knowledge and will be required to submit documentation verifying they are working under a physician’s license.

***  Covid19- All students participating in a Medical2 Phlebotomy Certification workshop until further notice will be required to bring and wear a face-mask in the room where the workshop is taking place. Participants will be taught the proper handling, and concept of the procedure then proceed to the practice area, and finally will prove competency on our specially designed manikins and live draws. Upon successful completion of the Workshop, the participant will receive a National Certification for phlebotomy with EKG.

Pharmacy Tech  program is a self study  program. $995

The Pharmacy Tech curriculum is designed to create the standard of knowledge to work effectively with pharmacists and provide excellent patient care and services. This course provides students with solid coverage of the information they need to be successful. Students learn the laws and regulations governing pharmacies and drug distribution. Other objectives include effects of prescription and illegal drugs, pharmacy math calculations, and drug classifications. The curriculum covers all aspects mapped to the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination Curriculum.

You must have acquired previous training and experience for this exam and provide us the proof in order to take this online certification exam. This exam is offered to those who are already OB Technician, or the equivalent thereof, with at least six (6) months of clinical experience. Proper documentation of this experience is required. Phlebotomy Certification Exam--

Earning a certification is a great way to advance your career in phlebotomy. Although certification isn’t required in most states, employers are inclined to hire phlebotomists with proper certification. This exam was devised for those individuals who have already acquired the proper training and experience required for a career in Phlebotomy.

This is a multiple-choice exam, covering all aspects of phlebotomy (basic and advanced), with emphasis on Safety Techniques and Special Procedures.

The following is an outline of the topics covered within the exam: Standard Venipuncture, Order Forms/Requisitions, Equipment, Labeling of Specimens, Tubes, Order of Draw, Procedural Issues, Vein Selection, Site Selection Finger sticks, Possible Complications, Medical Terminology, Infection Prevention & Control, Safety Techniques, Common Transmittable Diseases, Special Procedures: Butterflies, Bleeding Time Tests, Glucose Tolerance Tests, Arterial Draws (Blood Gases), Cold Agglutinin Tests, Blood Cultures, Fibrin Degradation Products (with knowledge of Thrombo-Wellco Test), Burn Victims, and Pediatrics.

Each certification exam is 100 questions with a passing score of 70 or greater. A time limit of 3 hours is allowed. The exam is taken on our website with your login information provided at registration. Since the exam is web-based and may be taken from any device with internet and video access. It may be taken at your convenience 24/7. Your score is provided at the completion of the exam. Only one attempt per payment. Certificates are mailed within one week of completion but may be printed from the website also.

Requirements must be met to attempt exam. The exam scoring is electronic. The Director is designated to handle inquiries regarding the non-discrimination policies or reconsiderations. Medical2 does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nation origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or age.

 

Three attempts to pass the exam per person is allowed. The exam cost is $125 per attempt.

As of January 2021, 422 candidates have attempted the exam with 197 currently certified. 


Renewal of certifications are annual. The follow are the requirements to renew:

a.      A fee of $75 per year is required. Additional years may be purchased at one time. If the expiration date has past, a late fee of $25 is added the 10th day or $50 is added the 90th day after the expiration date. Fees may be made by logging into the website or by calling 877-741-1996 with a debit\credit card payment.

 

b.     In addition, the certified party must supply Medical2 will one of the following:

     I.        A letter from employer or supervisor stating the person’s position, job description, and length of employment or start date to prove experience in the last 3 years. If the employer is no longer in business, a coworker may supply the information. 

     II.        Photo of badge stating the employer, position of the person, and a date within the last 3 years.

    III.        Check stub stating the employer, position of the person and a date within the last 3 years.

    IV.        A letter stating the person’s number of volunteer hours, date of volunteer work, and with whom the volunteer work was completed. This must have been done in the last 3 years with at least 8 hours completed.

    V.        If not employed in the field of certification in the past 3 years, the person must complete and supply Medical2 with 2 CEUs in a field related to their certification field.

   VI.        If the party has been employed but the first three steps are unobtainable, the certified person must supply a notarized attestation may be presented in place of the letter from employer.

c.     If a certification has expired more than one year, an additional exam is required and $125 is fee charged. If the party has not been employed, volunteered, or obtained CEUs in the last 3 years, an additional exam is required and a$125 fee is charged.


 A Reciprocal Certification may be issued to replace the previous or similar certification if the candidate passed an equivalent exam. Their exam must have been given by a respected accredited certification agency.

Average Salary--Credentialed coders are on average paid more than the non-credentialed coder. According to the 2016 AAPC Salary Survey (which was the latest available upon publication of this text) the average annual salary for an AAPC member is $49,872. CPC®, the physician outpatient certification, pays on average $52,690, while members with specialty credentials have an average salary of $57,524.

Patient Care Technician Program----$1525 plus $125 for certification exam

The Patient Care Technician Program provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide personal care to patients, perform an electrocardiogram, phlebotomy, and urinalysis. The course also covers emergency care, patient assessment, wound care, OB care, pediatric care, surgical care, mental health, and hospice. The program consists of Medical Terminology, and Patient Care Tech. After CNA graduation, the student has a three-week online course for Medical Terminology. The PCT portion includes 4 weeks online course then students are in the classroom from 1p to 5p on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the last 2 weeks.

The Certified Nurse Assistant program provides the necessary skills for employment in the medical community. The program includes lectures, discussions, and exams on basic nursing. Also, included is 23 CNA step-by-step skills such as denture care, feeding, bathing, cathcare, vital signs, pericare, and more.

Students will be instructed in the advanced concepts to billing and coding. Both procedural and diagnostic ICD-10 codes will be included for the student to properly process insurance claims in an ambulatory setting.  Association with the insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid are emphasized. In addition, the student gains knowledge to collect from the past due accounts.

MED OFFICE--Medical Office Procedure

The front office procedures include telephone techniques, scheduling appointments, proper communication skills with patients during greeting, admitting, and discharging patients are taught. Computer concepts with written communication and mail processing are emphasis also. Administration duties are designed to provide the student with obtaining the correct finance records, human resources knowledge, and customer service issues.
